We need your voice now!

The Government of Nova Scotia is developing a Coastal Classification System (CCS) mapping tool to show the open-net pen feedlot industry the best and worst places to lease.

Nova Scotia’s CCS tool is expected to launch this spring, and the province’s public engagement survey is live until Saturday, March 15.

Because the province’s CCS community engagement fact sheets do not adequately inform the public about the impacts of open-net pen feedlots or viable alternatives, we have produced a fact sheet, too!

Please read the HBN CCS fact sheet and take the public survey by Saturday, March 15.

We must send a clear message:
~ The CCS is not a public tool for everyday use; it’s an industry tool to help multi-billion-dollar multinationals identify communities they might exploit and pollute to maximize their profits.
~ Our bays are rich public commons, not industrial feedlots.

Welcome to the Healthy Bays Network

We are Nova Scotia's public voice in opposition to the open net-pen salmon industry, advocating for healthy bays full of wild marine life and free of pollution.
